LOWDOWN FOR TUESDAY OCTOBER 27, 2009

Let the Michael Jackson mania begin—again! Advance screenings of his documentary “This Is It” open in select cities around the world today—from LA to Berlin. It opens to the general public tomorrow. Now there’s talk that it really isn’t Michael in the flick—that it’s a body double. Sony Pictures says that’s garbage!! The movie is only showing worldwide for two weeks. See a sneak preview of the movie tonight 8:30 on VH1.

Not everybody is feeling Michael Jackson’s “This Is It.” Some are actually boycotting the film. In fact, over 20,000 people have signed an online petition titled “This is NOT It” because they say it isn’t a real look at Michael’s personal problems and they want the film pulled. Uh, NOT gonna happen!

Now that Michael is out of the picture, it seems sister LaToya is using this as time to shine. She’s been telling people that she speaks to Michael every time she goes to his old home. She says she’ll ask him to let her know he’s there and the lights start blinking. And she says she can smell him, too because he wore Tom Ford cologne. Toya says nobody else see’s Mike but her.

And since we’re still talking about the Jacksons…there is talk Janet and Jermaine Dupri are back together again. In fact, I hear JD has moved back into Janet’s crib. Just was just seen hanging out with Will.I.Am from The Black-Eyed Peas. Whatever, we’ll see.

Hip-hop is coming to the World Series. Jay-Z and Alicia Keys will perform “Empire State of Mind” before game one of the World Series tomorrow between the New York Yankees and Philadelphia Phillies.

Speaking of Alicia Keys, fans will have to wait a little while longer for release of her new album. “The Element of Freedom” has been pushed back to December 15th.

And Chris Breezy tweeted yesterday he’ll drop his “Graffiti” album on December 15th, too—almost a month after Rihanna drops hers.

The biggest names in hip-hop will be on the tube tonight. BET airs the 2009 Hip-Hop Awards that was taped earlier this month in Atlanta. Look for performances from Jay-Z, Snoop and Young Jeezy. The late DJ AM will be honored. Comedian Mike Epps hosts. The Hip-Hop Awards air 8 o’clock tonight on BET.

And R&B singer Monica debuts her new reality TV show “Still Standing”, 10 oclock tonight on BET.
