LOWDOWN FOR WEDNESDAY JUNE 30, 2009

In case you didn’t notice, Chris Brown wasn’t at the BET Awards. The word is Jay-Z still has a bad taste in his mouth with Chris and him beating up Rihanna so he told BET execs that he and Beyonce would pull out of the show if Chris was allowed to perform. Now nobody was tripping when Don Cornelius with his wife-beating booty presented the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Speaking of the BET Awards, the network is taking a beating for letting Lil’ Wayne perform his very explicit song “Every Girl” with a group of little girls dancing in the background. A scholar form MomLogic.com says Lil’ Wayne is clearly talented, but his song if offensive, disturbing and disrespectful especially in using young girls as sexual entertainment.

Lil’ Wayne is the object of affection for this man in Florida who’s obviously obsessed with him. He’s in jail now after making several 911 calls asking police to escort him to Lil’ Wayne’s home.

Some updates on Michael Jackson. Daddy Joe Jackson held a news conference outside the Jackson home to thanks fans for their support, and reminisce about is sons giving.

And of course, it wouldn’t be Joe Jackson if he didn’t promote his next project—his new record label.

If you wanna know what will happen to Michael’s three kids, his mom Katherine Jackson has won temporary guardianship over them. A hearing is set for next week to see if Katherine will get permanent custody.

It hasn’t even been a week yet since Michael Jackson’s death, and already new music has been released from the King of Pop. It’s called “Shout.”

Funeral arrangements are still incomplete for Michael, but there is a tribute to him to today at the Apollo Theatre in Harlem. It’s from 2-9pm.

Get ready for more reality TV. Two of the biggest female names in hip-hop Pepa from Salt N Pepa and Chili from TLC will both get their own reality TV shows. Pepa is searching for love after being celibate for several years and Chili is too. The shows set to premiere next year.
