You probably already know who has the #1 album in the country right now. It’s Jigga, but I guess the bigger question is just how many did he sell his first week out—can you say 476,000? It’s Jigga’s 11th release to make it to the top of Billboard 200. Jigga has passed Elvis Presley with his “The Blueprint 3” to have the most #1 albums on Billboard.
Speaking of album sells, Whitney is still doing it big, too. She did another 88,000 to come in at #3. Trey Songz is in at #6 selling another 45,000 albums.
Get ready for the movie about Whitney Houston’s life. I hear Lark Voorhies is set to play Whitney. Shooting is supposed to start next year.
And we can’t leave Bobby Brown out. I hear he’s signed on for the upcoming season of “Celebrity Fit Club.” Is it ‘Celebrity Fit Club’ or ‘Celebrity Rehab.’ I’ll keep you posted.
C Murder may be locked up for life, but that’s not keeping him from making music. He’s set to release his next album called “Calliope Click”. It drops September 29th.
Da Brat who’s on lockdown for hitting a waitress with a rum bottle a few years ago, has been keeping busy. I hear she just put together a talent show for her fellow inmates. The show is called “Showtime at the Alto.” Da Brat is locked up in Alto, GA.
Chris Brown is on a different kind of lockdown. He’s on clean up duty. He started his 180-day sentence yesterday morning picking up weeds and trash on the roadside in Richmond, VA. Check out Chris working on the Morning Maddhouse blog.
Alicia Keys is speaking out about Lil’ Mama coming on stage with her and Jay-Z during the MTV Video Music Awards last weekend. Alicia was on NBC’s “Today” show yesterday and basically said Lil’ Mama should stay in her lane.
And in rumors gone wild, I hear Usher has a new ‘cougar.’ I read in “In Touch Weekly”, Usher has moved onto to another older woman—a music executive named Grace Miguel. Supposedly this is the same woman Ush was rumored to be cheating on Tameka with.
