Oh, no—say it ain’t so. DMX could be going back to jail. He pleaded guilty to basically cursing out and threatening a guard while he was on lockdown for 90 days. Earlier, you know he pleaded not guilty to a felony assault charged, but bargained down to the lesser charge. He’ll be back in court next Monday to be sentenced.
While DMX could be headed back to the slammer, Lil’ Wayne could be headed back to a lawsuit? A female MC from Atlanta says Lil Weezy stole the beat and concept of “Ms. Officer” from her.
Some good news for R&B singer Brandy. She reached a settlement yesterday with the kids of the woman she killed when she slammed her Range Rover into the woman’s vehicle three years ago. The woman’s two kids will each get $300,000. The woman’s husband has yet to settle. He turned down an earlier offer of $1 million dollars.
Uh-oh-- some beefing going on between Christina Milian and Teairra Mari. The word is Christina recorded a song called “Diamonds” with Kanye West for her album with MySpace Records. But Christina messed up the deal when she left The Dream’s label and because she didn’t own any of the songs with MySpace Records, the label sent the song over to Teairra Mari who re-did it and put it on her album. The word is Christina used her relationship with the Dream and Kanye to block Teairra Mari from using “Diamonds” as a single. And then I hear Ye tried to charge Teairra $200,000 to shoot the video. Supposedly Christina put him up to it.
I hear Omarion is now a part of Lil Wayne’s family. He’s signed with Lil’ Weezy’s Young Money imprint.
A quick look at upcoming tours—Kid Cudi and Asher Roth will co-headline the Great Hangover Tour and Cam’ron and Jadakiss are set to kit the road this summer too. I’ll keep you posted on dates.
The LOX’s Styles P will be on a different kind of tour—a book tour. He’s written his first book—a novel called “Mr. Invincible.” It’s a jailhouse mystery. No date yet on when it’ll be released. I’ll keep you posted.
Big up to comedienne Mo’Nique. She’s a lot lighter now—she just lost 40 lbs. She admits her husband asked her to. She went from 262lbs to 224lbs and wants to eventually get down to 200lbs.
50 Cent is off the market! Well, at least his 50,000 square foot mansion is. Fif took it off the market after failing to find a buyer to pay the $14.5 million he was asking for it.
