Today is probably one of the biggest days in history when it comes to celebrity tributes. Today, Michael Jackson will be laid to rest. Over 8,000 fans got the word via email yesterday they and a friend were selected to attend Jackson’s memorial at the Staples Center. Nothing but A-list stars will be there, too—I’m talking about Mariah Carey, Usher, Jennifer Hudson, Magic Johnson, Kobe Bryant and Lionel Richie will all be there. All the major networks and cable news outlets will air the memorial live at 1pm today.
Meanwhile, the Jackson family will hold a private funeral service this morning, a couple hours before the public memorial. Michael will be buried in a bronze casket, just like James Brown’s. He’ll be buried near his grandmother.
Guess who WON’T be at Michael’s memorial? His ex—Debbie Row. I heard she got tickets, but says she won’t be there—too much media. Quincy Jones says he’s not coming. He says being among 10 million people isn’t his idea of a tribute. And actress Elizabeth Taylor says she won’t be a part of the public whoopla.
Now, have you thought about how much MJ’s public memorial will cost? Well, for a city that’s already $500 million dollars in debt, LA city officials say it’ll cost them around $2.5 million to pay for police and other expenses.
A Republican is feeling the heat for some nasty comments he made about the King of Pop. Congressman Peter King criticized Michael on YouTube calling him a pervert and a pedophile who’s been glorified. SIT DOWN!!
It’s confirmed! Lauren London is gonna be a mommy. She finally confessed it on Twitter. Of course, she hasn’t said who the baby’s daddy is. If it comes out with dreds and tatted up, we’ll know.
Lil’ Wayne meanwhile, has postponed his European tour. He was supposed to kick it off over the weekend in Paris, but his doctor said SIT DOWN.
What in the world is going on at Snoop’s house?? A 3-yr-old boy got hurt at his crib over the weekend after falling into a spa and sinking underwater. Someone snatched him out of the water and called 911. The little boy is ok.
Do you remember former Bad Boy rapper Loon? Well he’s a different man now. He’s gotten rid of the bling and fancy cars. He’s converted to Islam. His new name is Amir Junaid Muhadith.
Eminem is back on the big screen. The Slim Shady will appear in the new movie “Funny People” which stars Adam Sandler. It hits theatres July 31st.
