They may not have had the best relationship, but Joe Jackson says his son was more than the King of Pop, he was a great father who wanted nothing but the best for his kids. Pappa Joe spoke to ABC’s Primetime last night. He does believe there was something shady about Michael’s death and he shut down that rumor that he used to beat Michael.
Joe says his last conversation with Michael was over what he thought was Michael’s bad deal to do 50 concerts. Joe says it was way too many shows and the money wasn’t right.
And if you heard that ABC News paid Joe Jackson for that interview, you’re wrong. ABC says we didn’t pay him a dime, but we did shell out about $200,000 to used 10 minutes of footage from the Jackson’s reality show.
ABC may not have paid for the Joe Jackson interview, but the word is Michael’s ex Debbie Rowe might get $4 million to drop her custody fight to get Michael’s kids. According the New York Post, Katherine Jackson paid off Debbie, but Debbie says none of that is true.
Lawsuit updates—Brandy has settled a 2nd lawsuit from that car accident when she killed a woman after slamming into her vehicle. Yesterday, she settled with a woman who survived the crash. She’s already agreed to pay each of the two kids $300,000 and still has to settle with the woman’s husband.
Pharrell Williams is getting sued over a leaky condo in Miami. His neighbor says he hasn’t been able to live in his spot because Pharrell won’t fix leaks in his $14 million dollar high-rise penthouse.
And Common is getting sued by some songwriters in Chicago. They say Common stole their song when he released “Take It EZ.” Common says he did sample it a little.
Guess who’s getting rid of his tattoos?? 50 Cent says he’ll remove some of his tattoos to get more acting gigs. He says he just took it off his right arm.
It looks like Janet Jackson is getting back to work. I hear Janet did take off two weeks to mourn the death of her brother but was back on the set this week. She’s working on Tyler Perry’s upcoming flick “Why Did I Get Married, Too?” It’s out next spring.
