Lowdown for Tuesday, July 21, 2009

LOWDOWN FOR TUESDAY, JULY 21, 2009

It took a couple of months, but doggone it he finally said ‘I’m sorry.’ R&B crooner Chris Brown has posted a 2-minute video on YouTube apologizing for the beat down he gave Rihanna earlier this year.

Why NOW you ask?? Well, Chris says in his video that he wanted to talk sooner, but his attorneys advised him against it. Chris pleaded guilty to attacking Rihanna so he wouldn’t have to be locked up for four years. Chris will be formally sentenced on August 5th.

While Chris is trying to get his life together, his ex-boo Rihanna is trying to show the world her life. I hear she’s shopping for a reality show about her life.

Gucci Mane, are you going back to jail or not? Over the weekend, there were rumors circling that he was headed back behind bars, but Gucci’s attorney says “Not true!” That he’s not in jail and he’s not going back! Despite the fact that Gucci has been in and out of prison for the past five years for charges ranging from drugs, assault to murder, his attorney says he’s done!! Ok, we’ll see!!

Meanwhile, the po-po in Britain is investigating The Game. I hear The Game was rocking the stage last week in England when a fan jumped onto the stage and tried to take a picture with him. Well, a guy in The Game’s camp wasn’t having it so he allegedly punched the fan and broke his cheek bone. Cops are looking into it and say a special operation will be in effect when The Game performs next month.

Lil’ Wayne fans you’re in store for another wait from Weezy. The long-awaited rock and rap album “The Rebirth” is on hold once again. It was supposed to drop next month, but now it’s due in September.

Could it be an album showdown between Jay-Z and 50 Cent? Originally, both were supposed to drop their projects on September 11th, but 50 has since changed his date to September 29th. But, 50 says he would NOT be opposed to changing the schedule again to compete with Jigga.

Neither one of them can beat the King of Pop when it comes to album sales. Michael Jackson still reigns supreme. Since his death, his “Thriller” album is close to 29 times platinum.
