Oh, no—not my new little boo-boo. Emcee Drake reinjured a ‘bum’ knee last week while performing in Camden, NJ. The word is he had to be carried off the stage. You may remember he sat down during his entire performance at the BET Awards after tearing the ACL in his knee. Doctors told him to SIT DOWN—he didn’t listen so he’s gimpy again. Drake says he’s getting surgery this week. Drake is on that Young Money tour that hits the Queen City September 4th.
Uh-oh, could Kanye West have been behind the break up of Kim Kardashian and Reggie Bush. I hear a text from Kanye on Kim’s phone did it. When Reggie saw the text messages, he flipped. The text referred to how much fun he had hanging out with Kim and how hot Kim was!! Hey, that’ll do it!
Denied, denied, denied!! That’s what Rick Ross heard he tried to go to Bermuda for a concert this past weekend. The government there said ‘No, boo—you’re not allowed in our country.’ They denied Rick a work permit to perform, saying he didn’t possess good character and conduct. The concert promoter says they got the wrong “Ricky”. They think he’s former drug kingpin “Freeway” Rick Ross.
Tragedy in hip-hop. Slum Village rapper Baatin (Bah-teen) was found dead in Detroit over the weekend. Police don’t know yet how the 35-yr-old rapper died. There were rumors he was shot and another that he died from a crack addiction. Police are NOT treating his death as a homocide. Uh-oh, Chris Brown is ready to talk.
The word is Chris Brown is about to give his first TV interview to talk about his beat down of Rihanna. I hear he may go on CNN’s “Larry King Live” after his sentencing Wednesday. He’s expected to get six months of community service and five years probation and go to domestic counseling.
Trouble for The Game again. He’s being taken to court by a member of his own family. His cousin is suing him saying The Game and four others beat him down at sisters funeral last year. He wants to get paid now.
Meanwhile, Diddy’s boy group Day 26 is accused of thievery! A songwriter named Kirby Shields says they stole a track from him. He says Day 26’s “I’m Just Getting Started” is his exact same song.
Whitney Houston is on her way back. She’s been booked to do a performance on ABC’s “Good Morning America” in September. It’ll be pre-recorded because Whit isn’t feeling performing @ 7:30 in the morning.
The #1 movie at the box office over the weekend was Adam Sandler’s new flick “Funny People”, raking in $23 million dollars.
