The Lowdown for Monday, August 24, 2009

Lowdown for Monday August 24th, 2009

It’s been over 60 days and finally the King of Pop is getting buried. September 3rd is the date Michael Jackson will be laid to rest. Thank God!! The announcement came last Friday--the same day the po-po raided another pharmacy in MJ’s death. Michael will be buried at a cemetery in LA.

Mo’ money is what Kelis is screaming!! She says $44,000 a month from Nas just isn’t enough. Kelis’ financial records were submitted in court and show her monthly income is about $14,000, while Nas rakes in more than $200,000 a month. Kelis and her attorney are now asking for a total of $89,000 a month. Get a job!!!

In couple news, I hear Ashanti and Nelly are DONE!! Apparently, Ashanti has had enough of Nelly’s cheating ways and dumped him.

Meanwhile, Tyrese is a single man again. His divorce from Norma Gibson was finalized last week. Unlike Nas, he’s only paying his baby’s mama, $6,000 a month in child support. Both will share custody of their 2 yr-old baby girl.

Album updates—50 Cent has pushed his “Before I Self Destruct” album back again. It’ll now hit stores November 3rd. The project was originally was supposed to drop February of last year.

Eminem’s “Relapse” album is relapsing again! “Relapse Two” will be released November 17th. Right now you can pre-order it in the U.K.

And R. Kelly is about ready to drop his latest project. His 9th studio release titled “Untitled” will hit stores October 13th. Days before the album drops, R. will hit the road with his “Ladies Make Some Noise Tour.” He’ll be in Charlotte November 21st .

Meanwhile, it seems the honeymoon is over between Omarion and Young Money. Omarion is no longer with Cash Money Records. The word on the street was he was dropped for leaking a track, but O says he asked to be released so he could pursue other opportunities. He says there is NO beef between he and Lil’ Wayne and he’ll make a major announcement soon about his career and new album.

Uh-oh, a Ruff Ryder reunion goes to the next level. Look for DMX, Eve, The Lox, and Swizz Beatz, have already teamed up for the remix to Jadakiss' "Who's Real" remix. Now I hear the group will have new music next year that will include promo tours, and the launch of a new record company called Ruff Ryder Inc.

The #1 movie at the box office over the weekend was the new action flick called “Inglourious Basterds” that raked in more than $37 million. The #2 movie was “District 9” with $19 million; #3 was the G.I. Joe movie with $12 million.
