The music world has been hit hard with devastating news over the weekend—DJ AM passed away. Friends went to check on him at his Manhattan apartment and when he didn’t answer the door, they broke it down. He was lying on his bed. No word yet on the cause of his death and although prescription medications were found inside his crib, there’s no evidence of foul play. An autopsy is underway. DJ AM was 36.
Drama at the 50 Cent Family Day community event. It was supposed to go down yesterday in Jamaica Queens, NY, but it was canceled. Why? Because the po-po was scared something would pop off. Fif’s peeps say they’re just postponing it and working it out with police.

Thousands of people from around the world helped the King of Pop celebrate what would have been his 51st birthday over the weekend. Spike Lee threw a party for Michael Jackson at a park in NY. Meanwhile in Las Vegas, MJ was honored with a star on the Palms Casino Resorts Walk of Fame. And in Mexico City, 13,000 fans gathered to set a new world record for the largest group of people to do the “Thriller” dance in one place at one time.
Kim Kardashian has a new scent. The sex kitten is about to launch a signature fragrance that’ll she do with the same company that produces 50 Cent’s fragrance.
Big up to Tyra Banks. She took home a Emmy Award for “Outstanding Talk Show—Informative”, beating out “Dr. Phil”. Tyra’s new show pops off September 8th on CW network.
Big movie at the box office over the weekend was “Final Destination” raking in $28 million dollars.
And Whitney Houston is back!!! She drops her “I Look To You” CD today. She’s expected to sell between 300,000-400,000 CD’s her first week. We’ll see.
